Do we really need all this!?!
So last night was our first venture at starting a baby registry, what an adventure! Seriously though does there need to be 10 different brands for every item there is? It's hard to know for sure what one to choose because what works for one baby won't necessarily work for another. I've had plenty of advice about this or that, and it's hard when someone says "oh definitely don't get "this" brand of bottle they're awful" and I'm thinking to myself, "well that's the brand the kids I nanny for use and they seem to love them!" So basically I just found myself over the past week or so looking up reviews online and taking in advice from others and deciding somewhat based on that! I figure if they're horrible for our baby we'll return it and get something different. It's been helpful though that I've been nannying over the past couple years, so when I went to pick out car seat/high chair/pack n play stuff I knew pretty much what kind I wanted based on what I was already comfortable with. This is just the beginning though...we only started at Target last night and will probably head to Babies R Us soon, Eric's such a trooper to go with me on these trips! One thing I need advice on...breastfeeding mothers: what do I really need to buy?!? Breast pads, lotions, milk bags? Ahhh so many things that seem so foreign to me! HELP!!

Hey there Timmers! It sounds like you are enjoying the world of registering for baby! Jenni--two things that I found helpful for nursing Lauren were 1. good nursing bras :) and 2. nursing camisoles! (target makes nice ones) I know every person/baby is different, but I thought I would tell you what I found helpful! Enjoy being pregnant and I hope you are well!
I agree with Sara, and I will add my two cents as well. :) Start out with plenty of disposable nursing pads on hand - you can switch to washable later. And you will probably want some Lanolin at first, too...at least that's what I found helpful! Good luck with registering - I know what you mean about too many choices! I felt the same way! It's overwhelming, but eventually you get a feel for what works and what you like. Can't wait to see what you guys pick out! :)
I have to disagree, I hated nursing bras. The clips always showed through my shirts and NO SUPPORT! Ijust bought two good ones and I pull down the cup when I'm going to nurse. It's worked good so far and we are going on 7 months! Also, I recommend the Lansinoh brand of nursing pad. They are the best so far! Talk to you soon!
